We are proud to announce the launch of our new website GeorgeYangMD.com. This new website uses WordPress, an open source software originally used for blogging, but is now capable of Content Management System or CMS. What is CMS? It is an internet based software that allow for direct control of your website, such as editing content, adding new pages or posts, and rearranging the order of your web pages. Prior to the development of CMS, websites needed to be designed using programs such as Microsoft Frontpage or Adobe Dreamweaver and website designers were needed to design a professional looking website, as well as pay a monthly or annual fee to maintain and update the website.

In the New Age of Web 2.o, with social networking, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, the power of the internet is now in the internet users hands instead of the select handful of website professionals.

I wanted to choose a website template that was very clean with simple pulldown navigation. The current website theme has options for my staff and I to change the theme and color palatte of the website. Instead of having a static website which looks the same everytime you visit, we wanted to have some fun with it, and have the option to change the look of the website with the holidays and seasons, similar to what Google does with their Google Logos on holidays. The goal was to have a clean, simple Web 2.0 format, useful content, with some ability to change the website as my practice grows and evolves.

Originally we were going to continue to wait until more of the website was complete before launching the website. However, if we continue to wait until all of the webpages are complete, and all of the before and after photos are uploads, another 2 or 3 years may pass by. So this website will be a work in progress. Even as GeorgeYangMD.com reaches maturity with all of the pages complete, we will continue to update the photo gallery, and post new articles, updates, and information about new technologies in the NYCFACE blog.
